PAIN

Whether your pain is…

“Acute”  or  “Chronic”, Thermography or Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI)  can help you and your health care professional to safely get you back to better health. Clinical Thermography is providing the answers in the diagnosis of pain.

  • The only method available for visualizing pain and pathology.
  • Can assess pain and pathology anywhere on the body.
  • Is a very useful adjunctive procedure to other diagnostic tools.
  • Is very cost effective, risk free, and provides instant images.

Filling the gap – x-ray, CT, ultrasound, and MRI, etc., are all tests of ‘anatomy’ that measure the structures of your body… DITI is unique in its capability to show physiological change and metabolic processes.

There are two different types of patterns a thermographer looks for in a thermogram. Pain in the body shows up as Hyperthermia (hot spots: red and white) or Hypothermia (cold spots: blue, purple, and black) indicating to the client and/or practitioner a vascular or nerve problem within the body. The spectrum of colors indicates an increase or decrease in the amount of infrared radiation being emitted from the body surface.

Since there is a high degree of thermal symmetry in the normal body, subtle abnormal temperature asymmetry’s can be easily identified. Used as a preventative tool, DITI can be a wonderful resource for vascular problems and carotid arteries. TMJ, infected root canals, and gum disease can also be indicated by thermography.

As well as pinpointing the source of pain, DITI can also monitor the healing process before the patient is returned to work or training.

Upper Back and Neck Pain

also regular head aches. Thermography guided treatments achieved better results than any previously noted detection.

Stress Fracture

Football player with a stress fracture that was not detected with x-ray. Bone scan confirmed DITI findings.

Pain in the Jaw

Thermogram findings helped confirm diagnosis of TMJ and referral to the appropriate specialist for treatment.
